Hannah + Prav's Wedding

Hannah and Prav‘s wedding was a perfect showcase of how incredible and personalized a wedding can be when a couple  truly taps into what makes their relationship unique. Prav comes from a Jamaican and Indian background while Hannah is a California girl with Jewish heritage. In order to honor all parts of themselves and to show what makes their relationship unique, they made a lot of intentional decisions along the way.

First, let’s start with the venue. Hannah and Prav chose to get married at Gardener Ranch in Carmel Valley. Gardener Ranch is a true representation of California’s natural beauty – huge oak trees, beautiful weather, minutes away from the ocean, and a backyard oasis that allows your guests to escape into a weekend long retreat.

To honor Hannah and Prav’s spiritual backgrounds, they decided to have a traditional Hindu ceremony, mixed with elements and customs from traditional Jewish ceremonies. Their officiants, Raja and Emma, did an incredible job seamlessly weaving between Hindu and Jewish traditions, while making connections between the two religions and cultures simultaneously. It was honestly one of the most beautiful ceremonies I’ve ever witnessed.

To pay homage to Prav’s Jamaican roots, we incorporated a lot of tropical details into the design. Bright colors were prevalent throughout with tropical greenery leaves, natural textures, and gold and brass accents.

Hannah and Prav thoughtfully planned out all of the little details, like incorporating their dog, Brix, into their signature cocktail names, providing prescription take-home bags at the welcome party (Prav is a doctor :) ) and table numbers that were names of all the cities that held a significance to the couple.

What I love most about weddings is how each wedding is a unique representation of the couple and a celebration of how they got to be who they are for each other today. When couples embrace doing things differently, not always following a strict tradition, and get creative with the details, you really can create something special that feels completely personal to you and your guests!
